Sweater Weather

It is officially sweater weather season. I took these photos in New York and it was freezing. I was wearing 4 layers of clothing and I was still cold. Brr. Los Angeles weather has spoiled me. I wore a muscle tee (not photographed) with a red flannel (for a pop of color), a cable knit tan sweater and topped it off with an olive colored overcoat. I added a maroon beanie, a forest green infinity scarf and paired my outfit with some blue jeans and black high-top Converse. And of course, changed my hair color to a darker ombre purple and silver for the winter season. Black and maroon purses would be a nice add-on and are definitely the go-to colors for winter. I will be putting up a winter trend report soon. So keep an eye out for some winter must haves! Happy winter!

1) I am a boba addict. A drink also known as bubble tea or pearl tea

4) The perfect night is spending it in my bed with cookies and tea and a marathon of Friends. I am kind of a grandma.

5. What TV series do you watch? Friends is my all time favorite TV show. I, currently, like watching Game of Thrones, Homeland, Mad Men, The Big Bang Theory and New Girl. 
6. Do you have a hobby besides fashion? I dance (ballet and jazz), sing, do weird voices and take care of my beloved dog.

8. What got you into blogging?
   Many times, dressing up and being fashionable means breaking the bank. I wanted to show people that one can be fashionable without spending a fortune on brand name items.
9. Coffee or tea?
   Tea all the way. I have a cup of tea every morning and every night.
10. If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
    I recently visited Phoenix, AZ and found it absolutely charming. I would love to spend a couple years living in Phoenix and of course I would love to live in other cosmopolitan cities like, NYC, SF and Paris. But in the end, I would always come back to the great city of LA.
11. Favorite type of music? I enjoy listening to Alternative, Pop, Mainstream, and Country music.

Denim Days

It was a sunny day here in LA. I decided to bring out an oldie but a goodie. I bought this dress summer of 2013, more than year ago, at Forever 21. Luckily, it was on promotion and got it discounted because of the hype of denim dresses then. When I first bought it, I was so excited but to my disappointment nothing seemed to go well with the dress. I put it away and saved it for a rainy day, knowing that I would eventually find something to match with it. I brought it back out this fall and realized I needed nothing but a couple of accessories to bring together a cute outfit and VOILA! Remember, less is more. I am wearing a buttoned denim dress, a small brimmed, floppy brown hat, a small, front buckled purse and a pair of platform, sling-back heels. The heels are super comfortable. I am also wearing my go-to watch. A simple gold watch is definitely a closet staple piece. It goes with just about everything.

Casual LBD

Luckily, it is still hot here in Los Angeles and I am still able to wear a little black dresses. I bought this LBD on sale from Urban Outfitters for $20. Yay! I paired it was a loose chambray shirt and leather sneakers with small, silver, metal spikes. I love my accessories with this outfit. I have a panther printed backpack and a gold metal ear cuff. I also changed my hair color and put a bit of pastel pink and lilac together just for funsies. =]

Jean on Jean

Sorry for the very late update everyone! I will try to update every week for all you fashionistas. =] I have put together an American urban version of the Canadian tuxedo; light, acid wash jeans matched with a light washed jean jacket and a fun dinosaur, graphic muscle tee. I paired it with a gold necklace, grey slouchy beanie and, my go-to black sandals. I love this jean jacket, it is very versatile and definitely a closet staple piece. It adds a touch of edginess to almost every outfit. A pair of black boots would also work well for the colder seasons.

One Last Summer Crop Top

   

Summer is officially over but it is still warm here in LA. So, I wanted to do one last crop top to end the summer season trend. I decided to pair up a geometric printed skirt with a jean bralette. The outfit has a bolder print but doesn’t contain any loud or bright colors, which helps the it match well. Matching prints can be tricky, just make sure the prints don’t clash. A good rule of thumb is matching prints with something plain.

Jammin’ Through the Streets of New York

This past summer has been all about the muscle tees and showing off those sexy, toned, summer arms. What I love about muscle tees are that they are so comfortable to wear and easy to match. You get to be comfortable and look good doing it. That is definitely a fashion plus. I am wearing a grey, graphic, muscle tee with comfy, white, ripped jean shorts. I also accessorized it with a thick black bracelet and a black birkenstock style sandal. As for my hair, I actually pulled it back on one side to give more dimension to my look.

LBD- Long Black Dress

    

Everyone needs with a LBD, a long black dress, or in other words, black maxi dress. I actually got this on sale from Urban Outfitters for $10. What a steal! I styled it a few different ways. First, I wore it with an thick black belt, with gold plating and gold spikes (my favorite look). Second, I wore it plain with no belt and accessorized it with a simple tooth printed necklace and bright red purse.  Lastly, I just threw on a green army-styled vest. I wore all the looks with two basic black shoes, a chunky black heel and black strappy sandals.

Donut Worry, Be Happy

I love my donut muscle tee. It has the cutest message and it is comfortable. Now, let me break down my outfit. I am wearing a rainbow donut printed graphic muscle tee (that was a mouth full), reptile printed leggings, denim jacket and black strappy sandals. It is also accessorized with a thick black bracelet and the urban classic piece, the slouchy beanie. The thing about graphic tees, whether they are muscle tee or regular t-shirts, they will match with just about anything in your closet. Just make sure you match them with basic colors, so your outfit does not look overwhelmed with too much color and print. New post next week!

Summer Overalls

This past July, I went to New York and took some awesome pictures (thank you to my girlfriend). Here, I am wearing overall pants with a lace croptop; my new favorite summer strap sandals, found them for $20! I am also wearing my brand new black, chunky heels. I was digging through the back of my closet and found a black lace croptop! Nothing better than finding something old in the closet that is wearable. It’s like free clothes. I have been in the search to find the perfect overalls for years to fit my body type and trust me, it has been a journey. I think I tried on over 40 different kinds. When finding overalls, fit is key. It can easily make one’s torso look short and wide. So when finding overalls, make sure the bib doesn’t slouch because it can create an illusion of a belly. I have a very short torso and that is why it was so difficult to find overalls that fit me because the bib would be too long and the hip would sit too low. Hope you enjoyed my first post.
